FARM NEWS:
Dear friends,
This was a great winter with lots of snow and steady cold temperatures that kept our fruit trees in dormancy. In April of this year, the weather became abnormally hot for 2 days and people even put their air conditioners on to cope. Our fruit trees pushed into full blossom and when the temperature plummeted we were unable to protect them. Many springs have similar situations but unfortunately, this years extreme weather have caused a complete loss of our Peach and Apple crop. (You may have already heard this about the NJ crops. )
At this time we are harvesting Strawberries. Only the very first blossoms of those plants were hit and the happy plants have continued to produce flowers and fruit. We expect to harvest until the middle of June. Blueberries look promising and they should be ready around the 20th of June. Blackberries are blooming at this time and we expect a good crop as we move through July into August.
Our Cidery is open for sales every day (except Sundays) and this year we are booking private events. For your birthday, retirement, engagement and anything that brings your favorite people together, please consider renting a space and serving our delicious hard cider (apple wine).
We appreciate your support and are hopeful that next years fruit will be plentiful so you can really stock up.
Thank you
The Manoff’s
